Experience on a bus

A man gets on and greets the passengers,

makes a critical comment about the money

the US invests in Colombia,

then explains that he is poor,

that he lives by tutoring

but that often there is only enough for one meal a day.

His daughter is ill,

and his health insurance provider

is refusing to pay for the operation she needs.

He is appealing the decision,

but the case might take months to resolve,

and meanwhile,

could we help with a small donation?

I am astonished to see that many people give him money,

perhaps because most of them have been in a similar situation.
